"We couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience Capt. Brent provided. The boat was spotless and well-organized, he was fantastic with the kids, answered all our questions with patience, and most importantly, got us on the fish! We had an amazing day battling King Salmon and landing some beautiful Steelhead. The trip far exceeded my son's expectations—he couldn't believe what we caught! I highly recommend Fishing NV and can't wait to book another trip in the future." - Jerry
"We had an amazing day on the water with Brent! The action started right away—our first fish was in the box before all the lines were even out. While fishing with four people felt a bit snug (we had to share a seat), there was enough space to enjoy the trip. Brent thoughtfully provided sodas in a cooler, adding to the comfort." - Keith
"We've booked many fishing trips for my son, but this one was by far our favorite! We caught so many fish that we ended the trip early because our arms were exhausted from all the reeling. Captain Brent was an excellent guide, and my 10-year-old son loved learning so much about fishing. He even called this day one of his top 5 favorite days of his life so far! It will definitely be a memory he'll cherish forever. Thank you, Captain Brent, for such a fantastic trip!" - Rebecca
Rainbow Trout (Steelhead): These acrobatic fighters are a favorite among Lake Ontario anglers. Known for their spectacular leaps and powerful runs, hooking into a steelhead is like connecting with a living lightning bolt. They average 5-10 pounds but can push 20+ in these waters. Spring and fall are prime times, but Captain Brent knows how to find them year-round.
Coho Salmon: Often called "silver bullets," Cohos are known for their blistering runs and tasty fillets. These fish typically range from 3-8 pounds in Lake Ontario, with some pushing into the teens. They're most active in spring and fall, offering great action on light tackle. Their fight is often described as "pound for pound, one of the hardest-fighting fish in the lake."
Chinook Salmon: The kings of Lake Ontario, Chinooks (or King Salmon) are the heavyweights every angler dreams of tangling with. These brutes can top 30 pounds, with 15-25 pounders being common. Late summer and early fall see them staging for their spawning run, which means aggressive feeding and epic battles. When a big king hits, hold on tight - you're in for the fight of your life!
Brown Trout: Lake Ontario's brown trout are a prized catch, known for their cunning nature and hard-fighting spirit. These fish often cruise the shallows, especially in spring and fall, providing exciting near-shore action. Browns in the 5-10 pound range are common, with trophy fish pushing well into the teens. Their golden-brown coloration and red spots make them a beautiful catch.
Lake Trout: The true natives of Lake Ontario, lake trout (or "lakers") are the deepwater denizens that test both your skill and your equipment. These fish can live for decades and grow to massive sizes, with 20+ pounders not uncommon. They're most active in the cooler months, offering a great target when other species slow down. Fighting a big laker from the depths is an experience you won't soon forget.
Look, if you're after a fishing trip that combines world-class action with local expertise, this St. Catharines charter is your ticket to success. Captain Brent's knowledge of Lake Ontario is second to none, and his track record of putting clients on fish speaks for itself. Not only is Brent an amazing fisherman, he is also a class act and a gentleman. I met Brent at The Hamilton Boat, Fishing And Outdoor Show a couple years ago and have been fishing with him ever since. After showing Brent a picture of the biggest fish I have caught (20+ pound trout) and him guaranteeing he would catch me a bigger fish, I knew I had to see what this guy had. Within two years he has got me my personal best Trout, Salmon and Walleye. If you want to catch fish and I mean BIG fish, give Brent a call. You won’t regret it.

I had the pleasure of going on a fishing trip with my son and a friend to Canada. Brent Bochek was our fishing guide in the Kawartha Lakes near Fenelon Falls ON. He was very knowledgeable about the area we were fishing. We caught a lot of fish from small mouth bass, walleye and a tiger muskie. We had a great time and will certainly be calling Brent back for another fishing trip.

My wife and I have been out with Brent multiple times. He is very knowledgeable. He cares about his clients, he really want them to have fun and most of all catch fish. I highly recommend Muskie fishing with him.

I have been out with Brent three times and every time has been great. I’ve caught two of my biggest Muskie with him and my buddy caught his biggest king salmon out with Brent. He makes you feel like you’ve known one and other for year and it’s a great day out on the boat with him. If you book a trip you won’t be disappointed!

We had an amazing day on the water with Brent! The action started right away—our first fish was in the box before all the lines were even out. While fishing with four people felt a bit snug (we had to share a seat), there was enough space to enjoy the trip. Brent thoughtfully provided sodas in a cooler, adding to the comfort. The fishing was fantastic, with steady action throughout the morning. We started at 6 AM, and after a quick 10-minute ride, Brent began setting lines for trolling. By 10 AM, we had seven fish in the box, including four Chinook Salmon, two large Rainbow Trout, and a 14-lb Lake Trout. We even hooked a few shakers and had some fish that got away. Two beautiful salmon weighed in around 17 lbs, and we decided that was more than enough. While Brent cleaned the fish, he kept the lines out, and we landed another Rainbow Trout and a Salmon, bringing our total to 11 big fish—more than I’ve ever caught on a charter. The day before, they’d even landed a 25-pounder! We returned home with several coolers packed full of fish. Brent went above and beyond, accommodating our requests to save carcasses for smoking, heads for collars, and bellies. The weather was gorgeous, and the overall experience was everything you could ask for in a fishing charter. Thank you, Brent! We’ll definitely be back.

We booked a fishing trip to celebrate my son’s 13th birthday, and it was an incredible experience. There was a little rain early in the morning, but Captain Brent kept in touch and suggested delaying the trip by half an hour, which worked out perfectly. Communication was excellent, and once the weather cleared, the rest of the day was beautiful. Fishing was an absolute blast! My son said the trip far exceeded his expectations. We reached our limit and had so much fun reeling in the catches, including a couple of impressive salmon weighing around 15 lbs. Captain Brent was friendly, easygoing, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend him and his charter!

Six fish landed! One over 20 lbs, and two over 10 lbs. A great mix of Chinook, Lake, and Rainbow Trout. We’ll definitely be back for more! Thanks, Brent, for an amazing day on the water!

Brown trout are crafty predators that'll keep you on your toes. These golden-brown beauties typically run 8-24 inches and 1-9 pounds, though they can grow much larger. Look for them in cool, clear streams and rivers, often lurking near undercut banks or submerged logs. They're active year-round, but fall brings out the big ones as they prepare to spawn. Browns are prized for their wariness and strong fights. Their pale pink flesh is mild and delicious. To fool these smart fish, try matching the hatch with small nymphs or terrestrials. When the sun's low, switch to streamers or mouse patterns for exciting topwater action. A local secret: focus on fishing the seams between fast and slow water – that's where browns often set up to ambush prey.
Chinook salmon, or kings, are the giants of the salmon world. These bruisers can hit 30-40 pounds, with some topping 50. They prefer cooler, deeper waters, so look for them near the bottom or around structure. Late summer through fall is prime time as they start their spawning runs. Anglers target kings for their incredible strength and rich, flavorful meat. Be ready for a workout – these fish will test your gear and your arms. Trolling with downriggers is a go-to method, using plugs, spoons, or cut bait. If you're fishing from shore, try drifting roe or casting large spinners. Here's an insider tip: kings often strike out of aggression rather than hunger, so don't be afraid to use bigger, flashier lures to provoke a bite.
Coho salmon, also called silvers, are a blast to catch. These acrobatic fighters typically run 12-30 inches and 8-12 pounds, though Great Lakes specimens can top 30 pounds. Look for them in calmer areas of large rivers connected to the ocean or in Lake Ontario. They start showing up in late summer, with peak fishing in September and October as they make their spawning runs. Anglers love coho for their hard-fighting spirit and tasty orange-red meat. To up your odds, try swinging bright spinners in fast water or twitching jigs in holding pools. Here's a pro tip: when you hook one, let it run a bit before reeling. Cohos often jump and shake their heads to throw the hook, so a slack line can help you land more fish.
Rainbow trout are a favorite among anglers, known for their stunning colors and acrobatic fights. You'll typically find these beauties in cooler, clear waters around 55-65°F. They average 8-24 inches long and 2-8 pounds, though monsters over 20 pounds aren't unheard of. Look for them near gravelly shorelines, downstream flows, or in deeper pools during summer. Spring and fall are prime seasons when they're most active. Rainbows put up an impressive fight, often leaping clear out of the water. Their pink, flaky meat is delicious too. For the best chance at landing one, try nymphing with small flies or drifting egg sacs just off the bottom. A local tip: on bright days, go with flashier lures, but stick to more natural patterns when it's overcast.

I spend many days a year out on the water fishing for Walleye, Bass, and Trout and as such, I understand just how important it is to know the lake you are fishing on. Over the years, I have learned that the best way to get to know new "waters" is to hire a local guide to learn everything you possibly can from them in a very short period of time. A good guide like Brent will teach you more about the lake in one day than you could ever learn by yourself in a month. From the moment you step aboard Brent's boat, you will know that you made the right choice. He runs a top notch outfit, complete with everything you will need to catch fish and safety is always his top priority. In addition to his excellent fishing / guiding skills, he is just an all around great guy to hang with and turns a good day on the water into memories that will last a lifetime! Spend a day with Brent and you'll be friends forever. If you are looking for a great fishing guide in the Lake Ontario region, look no further! Brent has a proven track record for putting his clients on fish and that keeps them coming back year after year. Brent always goes the extra mile to make sure you get your money's worth
